Due to our Native American heritage, respect for and a fascination of nature has been central to the family’s relationship with the property. Walking the land continues to be a principle form of entertainment and recreation. The creatures that live here are all wild; however, they are sometimes observed if one is watchful. Most of our guests come to enjoy this laid back atmosphere. We often see deer, turkey, songbirds and squirrels; in sixty years bear, bobcat and coyote have been sited just a few times. For those faint of heart, be assured the animals are very shy and not used to people; they have never been troublesome and make great efforts to elude people.
